Meet the team

Emma

Emma understands that behaviours such as self-harm, suicide attempts, substance use, and other impulsive actions often emerge as ways to cope with overwhelming emotions or difficult life experiences. These behaviours act as protective strategies—like a plaster over a deeper wound. While they may offer temporary relief, true healing comes from gently taking off the plaster and exploring and addressing the underlying issues. Therapy provides a space to begin this process, helping you understand what’s really going on beneath the surface and work towards lasting change.

With over a decade of experience in both the NHS and private sector, Emma has worked across a range of inpatient and community mental health settings. Her professional background also includes senior management roles in a large blue-chip retailer, giving her a broad and versatile perspective.

Qualifications / Training:

• MSc Integrative Psychotherapy – Metanoia Institute (accredited by Middlesex University)

• Postgraduate Diploma in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) – Bangor University / BIDBT

• BSc (Hons) Nursing: Mental Health

Emma is also a clinical supervisor having completed certification with British Isles DBT and Canterbury University

Agata

CAMHS Team Lead

Agata is a psychological therapist and coach with a knack for seeing the person behind the diagnosis. She is informed on a personal level of experience with ADHD and blends this with many years in the NHS working with complex emotional needs, bringing both heart and expertise to her work.

Her toolkit includes DBT, CBT, and good old-fashioned psychotherapy—used with compassion and a healthy dose of curiosity. When she’s not helping clients untangle their thoughts, she’s knee-deep in soil at her allotment or knee-deep in textbooks, finishing her final year of clinical psychology training.

Agata is passionate about our me & ADHD programme and is also a co-facilitator in our DBT groups. Agata is also our team lead for young people from age 12.

‘I was really nervous about seeing a therapist as I didn’t actually know what was ‘wrong’ but Emma really understood me and I felt at ease during the assessment. She’s not just a ‘how does that make you feel’ therapist which I find patronising, she’s practical and genuine.’
